It is with the greatest pleasure that Douglas Carroll Consulting Engineers can announce the completion of a 24-unit residential development in Ladywell,
Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. The development is a combination of 3-bed housing units, 2-bed housing units, and 1-bed apartments. All units have been designed and constructed to comply with Part L of the building regulations.
Mechanical heating and hot water services are provided via energy-efficient Split Air-to-Water Heat Pumps.
Mechanical ventilation is provided via a demand control ventilation system, and all artificial lighting consists of LED technology.

Douglas Carroll Consulting Engineers (DCCE) are delighted to complete one of its Social Housing Developments in Waterford City.
Mount Esker development consists of 14 energy-efficient units equipped with advanced exhaust air heat pumps for efficient heating.
Our project combined modern design, and a focus on sustainability to provide comfortable living in an eco-friendly community.

Douglas Carroll Consulting Engineers (DCCE) are glad to complete one of our longest running projects.
The project design team were appointed in 2012 and was completed in 2023. It consist of 10 new beds for respite support.
This project is a 1 storey building, 10 bed. This project was originally conceived long before nZEB, but its design was futureproofed at that stage.

Douglas Carroll Consulting Engineers (DCCE) are pleased to announce that we have been successful in our application for inclusion on the Dept. of Educations Framework for Consultancy Services for Large School Projects 2022 – Mechanical & Electrical Consultants Panel.
DCCE are now eligible to tender for all Type 2B (value: up to €10m), Type 3 (value:up to €25m) Type 4 (value: > €25m) school projects, to be procured by the Department of Education, over the lifetime of this framework.

Expansion of the existing Radiology department by providing an additional floor of new accommodation at second floor level, above the existing, single storey Radiology department.
Refurbishment of existing MRI dept’ including rotation of existing MRI scanner (by specialist).
All works to be done in a live hospital environment.
An Enabling works package comprising the re-location of all existing external plants outside the MRI department, to new roof area.
The Notional Construction Value for the project is €4,600,000 exclusive of VAT, based on an overall nett floor area of 865 sq.m. (new build) & 152sq.m (Refurbishment).

Douglas Carroll are delighted to have worked with Waterford Council in providing Building Services Engineering Design the on the new recently completed social housing development, Port na Machan, in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford.
The development consists of a mix of homes with 6 one-beds, 8 two-beds and 2 three-beds. All of the ground floor units have a south-facing garden, while the first-floor apartments are fitted with balconies, overlooking the River Mahon and river walkway.
All of the homes are A2-energy rated for greater energy efficiency and cost savings. Not only are the homes appointed to the highest standards, they are set against one of the most picturesque backdrops in the heart of Kilmacthomas, in close proximity to the Waterford Greenway and close to Dungarvan and Waterford City.

Following the successful completion the new 2,500 sq. m AUDI garage & showroom in Waterford City in September 2012, Douglas Carroll have been appointed as M & E Engineers for the new AUDI Headquarters/Garage & Showrooms to be located opposite Leopardstown Race Track in South Dublin.
Douglas Carroll, are looking forward to the role out of this exiting and progressive building programme with 10 new AUDI dealerships coming on stream throughout Ireland and other openings planned for later in the year.

Pearse Douglas presented at the €18 million WIN-IPT (The Wales Ireland Network for Innovative Photovoltaic Technologies) initiative which was launched on 28/09/2012 at the EPA headquarters in Johnstown Castle Estate, Co. Wexford.
With key international experts/speakers from both industry and academia, the event included an industry forum to discuss the promotion and development of the PV/solar sector.
As research partners with WIP-IPT (The Wales Ireland Network for Innovative Photovoltaic Technologies), Douglas Carroll are collaborating on a number of research projects with Waterford Institute of Technolgy to record, monitor and analyse the enery performances of a number of sustainable building's that Douglas Carroll has designed.
